“My love of flowers and deep appreciation for nature, inspires my work as a designer.”

-Lynda Lisker

Bumblebee's Flowers & Gifts opened in 2004 in Glocester, RI. as a full service florist. Since then, it’s transitioned to appointment only showroom in Greenville, RI. specializing in wedding and special event florals and floristry courses across Rhode Island, and surrounding areas of Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Lynda Lisker, floral designer, educator and the creative mind behind Bumblebee’s - has over 2 decades of experience designing and working with clients planning events.

Lynda is a native Rhode Islander, who fell in love with flowers at a young age. Encouraged by her grandmother as "her special helper", she planted, watered, and cut beautiful zinnias from the gardens they planted.

Through the years, her love of flowers was nurtured by countless endeavors that make her well versed and highly skilled at design and event management and growing flowers.

She began her “formal training” with her first job at a local flower shop at age 18. Several years later she had an amazing opportunity to be the brain behind a corporate level pilot program to open flower shops in a supermarket! She successfully opened 5 stores - and we all know how that concept grew!

She worked in cut flower sales at a wholesale distributor where she mastered the names of every cut flower and green in the industry and her daily interactions with florists kept her sharp when it came to floral trends.

Her network expanded, and soon found herself working as a high-end designer decorating mansions and designing elaborate event florals and installations.

While raising two beautiful children, Lynda shifted to a part time position at wholesale garden center where her knowledge of flowers and eye for color and texture made for an easy transition. There she designed commercial perennial gardens and provided design advice for retail customers.

For 15 years following this, she planned events at an Ivy League institution, building on her experience.

She became a RI Master Gardener which gave her the platform once again to share her love of flowers and wealth of information with others. Her 5 acres of gardens were featured in the prestigious "Gardening with the Masters tour". She is always ready to dig up plants to share or help friends with their gardening projects.

Additional noteworthy accomplishments include her award winning display at the RI Spring Flower and Garden show; "A Wedding in the Park".

She offers seasonal floral design workshops and grows her own flowers - making this a sustainable enterprise! In 2020 she started with a small 100 x 50 patch and now has acres planted and a greenhouse large enough for small production. I see expansion in the future - her love of flowers is unyielding!
